Ugh. Hope everyone enjoys the show.
Someone better snag a setlist and share the joy.

I think they played four new songs, including Rikki Tikki...

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the night to me was no Vice/Versa, but with the new songs, something had to get left off, I suppose. Other Fables songs not included were Wolf and Say When. They played everything else. Opened with a new song, not sure the title. Tall Tales was second. Closed with Manatee, and the encore was another new song.

What did everyone else think?

last night was great.

they played 4 new songs plus pour the coal, musical chairs and rikki tikki.
walls, seafarers, dance, tall tales, upgrade, april fools and the wife and kids
and maybe a couple more. im sure i forgot something.

the club still has some shitty sound issues.
but they were solid and very energetic.

probably one of the longest FTM shows ive seen.
a great way to welcome back trees.

Brent, nice post. I meant to bring up the sound issue in my above post. Do you know what the deal was with that? I think Trees is a nice-sized club for FTM. But at the last Dallas show at Curtain Club, and then the previous two at House of Blues, I seemed to hear Darroh extremely clearer than I did last night. Last night, I was second or third row on the left. I know it's close to the speaker, but I was near the same place at House of Blues, and the speakers projected his voice 10 times better. Thoughts?

I don't think anyone took any video input

Edit: Will anyone who did go to this try to shed some light as to the sound of the new stuff?
I have been pondering what the vibe, tempo, and all that jazz is like for the 4 newer pieces of music.

SHOW WAS AWESOME!!!!
alright, i got a set list and lyric sheets for the songs "rikki tikki tavi" and "a thirsty fish"
i also grabbed "an honest conman" lyrics sheet from the stage but gave those and another set list to some other FTM fans :)

ill take pics of and post later

heres the set list as follows

uh-oh
tall tales
walls of jericho
kyla
loophole
wife + kids
rikki
april fools
bright bulbs
upgrade
musical chairs
pour the coal to her
seafarer
manatee

the encore wasnt listed so i want to assume its "a thirsty fish" since it was a new one
cliff informed me "bright bulbs" is not the full name... somewhere along the lines of "bright bulbs and sharp objects"
"loopholes in limbo" changed alot as andrews soaring voice in the chorus changes to nothing but words with the same melody... i didnt care for it as much
"rikki tikki tavi" changed in the verses... no longer repeats the first line in verse1
"uh-oh" andrew came out with a new "megaphone" like device and used it twice in the song and only this song for some moderate sound effects

from a lyric sheet i grabbed on stage after the show under bretts drums....

RIKKI TIKKI TAVI

verse 1
i am not a machine so dont treat me like buttons
were not identical twins so dont finish my sentece
dont pay any mind to a voice behind curtains

verse 2
if you want a picasso you better start diggin'
if i build the arc will you wait for the water
there are snakes in the grass
so we better go hunting

A THIRSTY FISH

verse 1
it was an early thursday afternoon
when she skinned us alive
and blamed it on her mother
and now when sheads out in her sunday best
im wrapped around her neck
but she wont admit

verse 2
a yellow-belly isnt gonna have the guts
but sometimes son they still get the glory
its like the story of the thirsty fish
that jumped bailey bridge
and wouldnt admit it

chorus
you wonderful waste of space
who quotes amazing grace
raising up your right hand
wth a little X behind your back

**in verse 1 the word "sheads" was written... as in she heads the "s" was more heavily marked out... take it however you wish

Thirteenfold, thank you so much. So from the looks of it:
Rikki Tikki Tavi
Musical Chairs
Pour The Coal To 'Er
Bright Bulbs And Sharp Objects
Uh-Oh
A Thirsty Fish
A Loophole In Limbo

That looks awesome; almost an average-length CD. I'm pretty sure they're more than half way done. I really hope they have an awesome closer for this album like they always have. I've noticed that Quince and Say When have been the last songs and are the most different songs when comparing them to the other songs in their respective albums.

I hate that I don't live in Texas.

How did Thirsty Fish, Bright Bulbs, and Uh-oh sound?
